In the mountains of South Korea, a young girl named Mija lives peacefully with her grandfather and her best friend—Okja, a genetically modified super-pig created by the powerful Mirando Corporation. Over ten years, Mija and Okja form a deep bond, treating each other as family. However, their quiet life is shattered when representatives from Mirando arrive to reclaim Okja as part of a global publicity campaign to promote their new food product.

Okja is transported to New York, where she becomes the centerpiece of the corporation’s deceptive branding strategy. Mija, determined to rescue her beloved friend, embarks on a dangerous journey that takes her from her remote village into the heart of a corrupt and exploitative industry. Along the way, she crosses paths with the Animal Liberation Front (ALF), a group of radical activists who want to use Okja to expose Mirando’s cruelty.

As Mija navigates a foreign world filled with greed, manipulation, and conflicting agendas, she learns the painful truth about the meat industry and the brutal treatment of animals like Okja. Though the ALF claims to be on her side, Mija must decide who she can truly trust in her mission to bring Okja home.
