Army of Darkness is a wild, horror-comedy adventure that continues the story of Ash Williams, the chainsaw-handed hero from the Evil Dead series. After being sucked through a time portal at the end of Evil Dead II, Ash finds himself stranded in medieval England. Confused and angry, he's captured by knights and mistaken for an enemy. Before long, he's battling not just for his survival—but for the fate of the entire kingdom.

The people soon realize Ash might be the chosen one from an ancient prophecy, capable of defeating the Deadites—undead creatures summoned by the evil Necronomicon. With his "boomstick" (a shotgun) and chainsaw arm, Ash becomes both a feared warrior and a ridiculous fish-out-of-water in the medieval world. His snarky attitude, clueless arrogance, and over-the-top bravado make for constant laughs even as the danger escalates.

To return home, Ash is tasked with retrieving the Necronomicon, the cursed book that caused all the chaos. However, in typical Ash fashion, he messes up the magic words during the ritual, accidentally unleashing an army of skeleton warriors led by his evil doppelgänger—“Evil Ash.” What follows is a mix of slapstick comedy, creepy visuals, and epic fantasy battle scenes straight out of a B-movie dream.

The climactic showdown features Ash leading a ragtag group of villagers against the skeletal army. Using makeshift explosives, engineering skills, and sheer guts, Ash defends the castle in a final, ridiculous, and action-packed fight. The blend of horror elements, Three Stooges–style humor, and medieval madness creates a tone that’s both chaotic and irresistibly fun.
